Golden Star Apple, or Abiu, can be described as: soft, sweet, milky and juicy. The jelly-like texture is reminiscent of Sapodilla, which is no surprise given that they come from the same family. Biting into this delicious fruit is like biting into some sort of brown sugar jelly, but if you get too excited and start eating the rind you will notice a sticky latex-like texture on your lips. But don't worry, that's just nature telling you to slow down.

Preparation Ideas: first, wait for the fruit to be entirely yellow. Sometimes there is green blush at the top of the fruit, which means it's not 100% ready to eat. Cut the fruit into apple-style slices, pick out the large seeds (normally 2-3) and eat it like a melon slice.
