Thanh Longan Fruit is larger than Ido Longan. They are a member of the Soapberry family, along with its lychee and rambutan cousins. Longan is rich in vitamin C and has a very high sugar content; which you will notice on your first bite. It is believed that this super fruit helps treat insomnia, stress and anxiety. It has also been said to increase the libido. So when oysters aren't available, just dig into a few of these.
Preparation Ideas: Grab a small knife and cut the skin off. Flick the seed out and enjoy the soft, yet crunchy, floral flesh. Longan's are also great in cocktails, smoothies, and milk tea.
