We fortunately did not name this pear variety because it would be hard to defend why we didn't come up with something more creative. The name obviously refers to how it looks compared to other pears. But the joke is on other pears because the Ugly Pear might just be one of the more refreshing and satisfying pear varieties we have ever tried.
Pears might be the only fruit that achieve maximum nutritional value after being picked. This is why our pears are transported by boat. Letting them sit for 10-14 days after being picked actually makes them better.
Preparation Ideas: Honestly, just eat this thing. Save prep and cooking for other pears.
