Jordan Station, ON.
Gooseberry is a member of the currant family, so you can expect sour and tart. These little suckers pack a serious punch to non-sour likers. If you are an advocate of sour fruits then look no further. The green varieties are crunchier and seriously sour. The purple varieties have a more complex sour+sweet flavour. They are great for jams, jellies, reductions, pies, or just raw eating. They also make a great substitute for lemons in a vodka or gin soda.
